Christina Kraemer and New Year's Resolutions

After a very over indulgent Christmas, it's now New Year and time to stop eating and drinking everything in sight and mould myself into something resembling a normal sized human being!

I also fancy changing me a little bit, it's time to stop wearing so much black and leather! I stumbled across Christina Kraemer's collection which is made up of loose fitting, pastel dresses, something that could cover up my festive lumps and bumps but without my usual layers of black...

Amanda Adomaitis

Beautiful photos, stunning colours and floaty fabric are three things that will instantly get my attention. Amanda Adomaitis's S/S 11 collection shoot have all of these with a little hair envy thrown in there for good measure.

Her clothes feature her illustrations of uncanny creatures based on basilisks for example a forest owl wolf fish and hippopotamus axolotl... The latter being a mixture of two of my favourite animals, win.

Parents and Children

This collection of images show Japanese Parents and Children together, I love the way it shows how they have influenced each other, the similarities and the differences. This set has taken the photographer, Bruce Osborn, since 1982 to complete, that's longer than my entire life!

Hermione De Paula

I've lost count of the amount of times I've posted about Hermione De Paula, she's easily one of my favourite designers as pretty much everything she creates makes me swoon.

I doubt any of it would look good on my curvy frame but I like to pretend it would, whilst I run through cornfields at sunset (obviously do this all the time...)

These images are from her S/S 11 lookbook, they are beautifully feminine without being ultra girly.

Style Unwrapped

 I very rarely post about things happening in places where I actually am, mostly because I live in Preston and not much goes on there...

Last week saw the Fashion Promotion and Styling students (basically the course I'm doing but with more styling and the year below me!) at UCLan months of hard work come together for their Christmas fashion show, Style Unwrapped. It was a Gok Wan stylee show with three different price ranges (high street won) set in the rather wonderful Harris Museum.

It was really well organised, minus a few technical difficulties, and styled. I definitely wanted to steal the majority of the shoes featured, whoever is 'Stylist's Own', give me your shoes!

Life Underwater
