Helen Bullock

I cornered Helen Bullock over at the Sunset Stage at Latitude Festival after recognising her dress from across a field, the dress in question was from her Graduate collection from the Fashion Print course at CSM, thankfully I was correct and had pounced on the right girl...

I recognised Helen Bullock's work after we had used one of her dresses in a Fashion156.com shoot for The Artisan Issue (one of my favourite issues I worked on), I surprised myself with my memory skillz!

So, even though I fell in love with it a year ago in an empty room above a club in Notting Hill, I thought you might fancy falling in love with it too...

Helen doesn't have a website at the moment, but I'm sure she wouldn't mind if you emailed her for a little more info. I might also do a cheeky post of her illustrations in the near future too which are a bit on the lovely side.

Dustin Humphrey

You all know how much I love underwater photography right? Well wrap your eyes round these beauties.

I don't even really have much to say about these images apart from the fact that I love them. I love the sense of fun mixed with the obvious technical skill (not to mention snorkeling models) it would take to capture them. To check out more of the photographer Dustin Humphrey's work, have a look at his website.

What do you think?

Anna Daubner

I love these pieces by Anna Daubner, Hungarian blogger, student and designer extraordinaire. Anna is currently studying at Moholy Nagy University in Budapest. These images are from her independent project entitled 'Prismatique' where she has been experimenting with paper, textiles and jewellery making and these beautiful images were styled and shot along with other young creatives.

These designs are what I imagine would happen if Fred Butler and House of Flora had a very pretty, but slightly pointy baby...

Her new collection, My Alice in Wonderland, can be seen on her NJAL profile, which is amazing, but the images are too teeny to post, go and have a look here.

Images from her Behance profile. Visit her top notch blog, Our Fashion, here.

The US of A

It just dawned on me that I'll be on in the US next week... I am incredibly unprepared, not even a thought has gone into packing and the tickets haven't even been printed off yet. The trip has been booked for months and months but seems to have crept up on me and pounced from behind.

Thankfully our friends who we'll be staying with are a little bit magnificent and have made us a great plan for the three weeks we'll be over there, including staying in a cabin in the woods (a la Evil Dead), going to see a baseball game and plenty of sightseeing, basically all the places that teenagers get killed in Slasher films, win.

We'll be enjoying Arcade Fire, Lady Gaga, DEVO and like a million other awesome bands at Lollapalooza (aka the reason for us going) and staying with friends for another couple of weeks after that, I'm rather excited but very, VERY unprepared. If anyone is in the Chicago/Wisconsin area in August and has sightseeing tips, they would be very much appreciated!

The images above were taken by Paul Octavious at Montrose Harbor in Chicago!

Katie Eary and Catwalk Genius

(The portrait photos were stolen from lovely Amy from Wolfwhistle and the landscape ones are mine!)

So I'm completely behind all the other good bloggers, I chose to go to Nottingham and have a weekend of cocktails and fun times instead of uploading photos, I'm a bad blogger...

On my travels to London last week I met up with the lovely Anna Madeleine and went to Selfridges Christmas press day (I know it's July, weird!) then found the gorgeous Amy from Wolfwhistle and Luke who really needs to get a blog... We all trundled off to London Bridge to The Architecture Foundation to celebrate Katie Eary reaching her target of $5,000 on Catwalk Genius, make sure you check our Catwalk Genius, it's a bit good!

This is Katie Eary's first dabble into Womenswear and she definitely hasn't disappointed. Even this small collection exudes Katie Eary's design skills, the woody prints hark back to the prints within her recent Menswear collection as does the colour palette. The venue was a little bit amazing too, entirely covered in moss and full of peep holes, we had lots of fun hiding while drinking scrummy organic cider. I also got to meet the lovely Isabelle OC and sadly just missed my twitter buddies Alex and Fiona, fail!

I look a bit bedraggled in the photo above because I'd been tramping around muggy London all day, though I'm wearing a vintage lace top, Henry Holland for Debenhams leather shorts and Office brogues if you wanted to know!

I'm looking forward to getting my hands on some of those leggings!

For more info visit the Catwalk Genius website.

Milla Snorrason

There is so much I love about this collection by recent graduate Milla Snorrason, from the glasses down to the dog.

Milla studied in Iceland, in the Academy of the Arts in Rekjavik to be precise, which is a place not intrinsically linked with high fashion. I think Milla has the perfect fusion of commercially viable clothing and couture detailing. I love her take on glasses as well, making them something to look at rather than just something you look through.

I'm feeling the urge to attach wooden shoulder pads to everything I own...

Exit, pursued by a bear

Remember those days when you used to take a giant bear into the woods and run around? No, me neither, but it looks like a whole bunch of fun!

These images were taken by photographer Matias Troncoso and I think they have the perfect mix of humour and beauty with a lovely bit of Where The Wild Things Are thrown in there.

For more info and images, visit Matias Tronsoco's flickr. Hope you like the little Shakespeare reference in the title too...

Dace and Stationery

You might remember my post about Dace Clothing after I had fallen in love with their designs featured in Andre Paul Pinces photography.

They have just, literally like a couple of days ago, released their rather beautiful Fall collection. Not all of it is available to buy at the moment, but if you order the pieces that are you get the cutest little stationery set. If you offer me stationery and clothes, I am all over it, especially if they're as adorable as these.

These sets have been made by the lovely people at The Paper Whale, containing a notebook, polaroids and a burlap case.

If you fancy getting your hands on one, head over to the Dace website before they run out, if not, just go and have a little perv on their wares, you won't be disappointed!

I'm off to Laaanddaaan for the Selfridges Christmas Press day (yep it's Christmas time already!) and the Catwalk Genius/Katie Eary celebration party so it should be fun, expect posts galore!
