Graduate Fashion Week 2010

Graduate Fashion Week 2010 is just around the corner, this year falling between the 6th to the 10th of June. I will hopefully be making an appearance for some of the shows, and suggest you do too!

The images above are a few of my favourite designers from last year, from the top there is Nicola Morgan queen of interlocking fabric, Myrto Stamou expert in draping, Calum Harvey who can transform a seatbelt into something beautiful and Hannah Taylor knitwear extraordinaire.

I love Graduate Fashion Week, it's the best place to discover new and exciting talent with all the excitement of shows at the same time. Plus, I'll always remember Graduate Fashion Week 2009 as, during the after show celeb party holding a glass of champagne, I found out that I was going to be an Auntie!

Click here to visit the Graduate Fashion Week website. Also, a select few designers, including Myrto Stamou, have designed pieces for River Island which should be available in store now, click here for more info.

If you're in London around the time of GFW, you should also keep an eye on InStyle's twitter account as and watch out for clues between the 7th and the 15th of June, follow the clues correctly and you could win a mountain of prizes ranging from £500 to spend at Selfridges to designer handbags! Get following them on twitter for more details.

Have a good time! Those are all such interesting designs. I especially like the draped ones and the funky chunky knits.

thanks for the heads up on the instyle twitter thing, I could do with a new handbag :)
I always go down for the Nottingham show but this year I'm watching Leicester too; I just love the atmosphere there, it's a really great opportunity to learn about what's going on in the industry. Can't wait!

The amazing knits jump at you, but the other designs are looking great, too. Will try to follow the action!

northumbria represent! *ahem* yeah Nicola Morgan graduated my uni last year... puts some pressure on when someone that innovative and interesting graduates 2 years ahead of you, but her work is just awesome.
