During a session of stumbling around the internet, I happened to find a rather strange forum dedicated to gathering information, discussions and photographs of abandoned buildings and derelict places.
I'm not entirely sure of why it exists, whether it is simply for discussion or, because of the 28 Days Later logo at the top, whether it was initially set up for scouting locations for the film and has just grown organically from there.
The locations seem to be centred around large, abandoned buildings such as hospitals or factories, but my favourite images are the ones of a 110 year old cinema, the one with the chandelier and the one below that.
My favourite photographer I found on the forum was Gina Soden, who took about half of the above images!
When I look at it, I just see prime (and cheap!) locations for photo shoots or editorials, just imagine a model dressed head to toe in Miu Miu in any of the above photographs and you've got yourself a Vogue shoot. The images on this post are the ones I've picked out to be the best location for a photo shoot, though being in some of the building would freak me out a little...

Perfect places for fashion shootings.. I love that photo with stairs and that gorgeous chandelier.. It's just perfect..
i know how you feel, i have spent hours looking at sites like these. hospitals, asylums, underground cavens and even the people that climbs things like the blackpool tower(without permission)

I love these kind of locations, they make photoshoots much more exciting! I think they look beautiful and could be peices of art, i would have them hanging in my flat if i could x

Oh, me and my boyfriend are always talking about doing a bit of urban exploring. He loves looking through things like this.
I've never actually done it yet, (although I would love to) but my boyfriend did once break into an abandoned asylum near his house. The photos were really interesting!
I found this amazing site of old houses that had been abandoned. I shall try and rediscover it again.

i'm always so inspired by photographers who can make the most broken down places look like a place i want to explore. as a child i used to love visiting an abandoned school nearby. i think maybe it's a combination of fear and curiosity that draws people in.

I used to study photography with a lady who was an avid urban explorer and pretty much all her work was shot on location in places like this, I was absolutely flabbergasted at some of the amazing places just left completely intact.
I remember coming across a website with shop interiors left totally as they were, with cans of food on the shelves and stuff, it was amazing. I'll try and find it and let you see!

the one with the chandelier reminds me of the scene in titanic when its filled with water and dead but its still eerily beautiful... idk why.

picture 2,3 and 4 would definitely freak me out if i had to be there for photoshoot *shrugs* but lovely places for photoshoot!! i agree 100% on that :D xx
I absolutely love these photographs- a dreamy, wonderland quality about them, although really, wasteland...I love exploring decrepit buildings, especially ones with glorious chandeliers.
Love these you find the most interesting pictures. The rooms in picture 2, 3 and 4 would scare the crap out of me, I would never go in alone. But these would make excellent fashion shoot spots. I had to do a shoot in the basement of my friends apartment building once and I felt like I was on the set of Saw it was totally creepy!

It's not just become a hobby for me now, I do it all the time as part of my work, and some of the artworks you posted have been exhibited. I'm really proud of past works and strive to find even more places, that are even more beautiful in their own ways as often as I can!
